A pair of 19th Century beautifully hand painted watercolours on silk set in a wooden frame with original Chinese hanger . Very finely painted with soft colours and great character in the faces.

The Chinese have long had a profound connection to their ancestors. Commemorative portraits known as ‘ancestor paintings’ were painted specifically for use in ancestor worship.

No damage to the paintings, frames show a little age.
